My Journey to the Heart
My life has been a series of twists in turns which were all necessary for my Soul growth as a human being. I was always drawn to nature, to spiritual studies, and learning how to live within nature as a modern woman.
The healing arts were a natural fit for me—my background is in Bhakti and Kundalini Yoga, Massage Therapy, Herbalism, and Energy Healing. Part of my journey included organic cultivation and the study of various herbs including cannabis. I am a certified herbalist and have used this knowledge to create an herbal body care line with all natural ingredients along with providing women with herbal support and consultation for fertility and womb wellness.
I have traveled to various regions of the world to see its people’s and get to know their practices both on a cultural level and through their ways of health and healing. I feel some of my greatest learnings have been on the road, traveling in foreign lands, eating different foods, and learning the ways of various cultures. I have integrated all aspects of my life, pulled the golden nuggets out of every situation, and learned how to adapt to life as a free spirit in modern times.
Yoga is no longer only a feel-good exercise for me, it is a way of life. From the practice, to my community, to the foods that I eat, to books that I read, they all join together as support and reinforcement of living a Spiritually minded, Yogic way of life. I now see, that through the course of my life, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness were all there to support me and would eventually lead to my greatest transformation.
I have been practicing yoga since 2004 when I was 18 and began teaching in 2016. Even though I was relatively young when I found yoga, life was not an easy situation for me, and in fact I felt lost, distracted, in co-dependent relationships, and found myself addicted to various substances that masked and took away for my inner radiance. You could say, that I fully met my darkness, head on, and it was a process of self-inquiry to my inner and outer struggles, a getting real with myself that made me change my tune to the fact that life didn’t need to be an unhealthy, addicted, lost existence.
My most critical and effective support was found in Spiritual Circles that taught and emphasized the need for a daily practice (Sadhana), ritual, and prayer. Something beautiful took place within me when I began to see that my efforts of both minimizing un-healthy lifestyle choices and practicing yoga and meditation daily brought me to a place of gratitude, fulfillment, and calm presence in life. In other words, I began to believe in myself, find direction, and clearly saw that just as my teachers have positively impacted me, I can also be a force of good in the world.
I am a real person, with real hardships, and have dedicated my life to the pursuit of service, mentorship, and teaching all that I have learned and continue to learn.
Yoga to me, in its simplest form, is a deepening of connection to the Soul, and I feel that the teachings of yoga and meditation have enriched my life to such a degree that they have allowed me to transform into a person I love and believe in. I teach from my heart to yours, and strive to create connection within the body-mind to the heart. I continue to learn, grow, and share these ancient practices as a way of life to help others on their personal journey of health, healing, and happiness.
I teach both philosophically and practically because I believe in having a grip on the reality of being a Human Being along with our spiritual origins. This is why I feel that yoga and meditative practices are so enriching, because they address all of who we are as humans, both matter and Spirit.
